Personhood , now as we wrestle with our thorny questions of self  and virtual; reality and artificial  intelligence I  cannot help, but be reminded of my father in-law wrestling with his equally vexing question: is  it better to be upper middle class or lower upper  class  and as we  all race towards   dementia all we really are is our memories and how we chose to  interpret these memories makes us the individuals  that  we  are and to put it another way we are each like books in a library   and despite    that every word has been  used and there are really no unique words  it just happens that the order of the words are  unique  and differentiates each book and it is this  our  interpretation of our personal  experiences  are also unique And also what makes us unique  and perhaps  it is this that modern technology can help us with
